Planning Commission

The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7 PM in the City Council Chambers.  The Commission consists of five members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the full Council.  Entitlement applications that require Commission review and/or approval include General Plan Amendments, Zone Changes, Tentative Maps, Conditional use Permits, Design Reviews, and Variances.

Modification Committee

The Modification Committee meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 5 PM in Conference Room A, City Hall West.  The Committee is comprised of one member of the Planning Commission, the City Planner and the Building Official.  Entitlement applications that require Committee review include minor adjustments to development standards (e.g. building setbacks).  Projects that require approval of a Modification Permit and another concurrent entitlement application (i.e. Conditional Use Permit, Design Review) are heard solely by the Planning Commission.

 Art in Public Places Advisory Committee

The Art in Public Places Advisory Committee meets on an as-needed basis to review public art applications.  The Committee is comprised of two members of the Planning Commission and three members of the public appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the full Council. The Committee’s recommendation is then forwarded to the Council for final consideration.
