Veterans Rental Housing Project (2016)

With an estimated 8,000 homeless veterans living in Los Angeles County, which holds the largest population of military veterans in the nation, the City of El Monte remains committed to curbing homelessness among service men and women.

The 41-unit Mercy Housing Veterans project on the corner of Stewart Street and Ramona Boulevard will feature an on-site project manager as well as a supportive services coordinator to provide educational, recreation, health & wellness, job placement and vocational training programs for veterans. This unique project will provide a dynamic and affordable living environment for veterans to integrate back into society who served their country in the United States Armed Forces.

Exchange at Gateway (2015)

The Exchange at Gateway offers 132 units of affordable apartments adjacent to El Monte Bus Station. The four-story complex is part of the mixed-use Gateway development. Amenities include a spacious community center with a computer lab, a fitness center, arts and crafts room, water-efficient landscaping and community kitchen. The property is built around a central courtyard with barbecue picnic areas, tot lot, outdoor seating areas and bike storage in the underground garage to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each apartment home also includes a patio with balcony. The new development achieved a LEED Gold certification which was designed to lower energy consumption, providing a cost-saving benefit to residents.

Tyler Court Senior Rental Housing (2014)

The 20-unit Tyler Court Senior Housing project on the 3300 block of Tyler Avenue will provide high-quality affordable rental housing for seniors in our community. In partnership of the City's Community Services Departrment, Tyler Court residents will have access to supportive health & wellness services including recreation and educational classes at the Jack Crippen Senior Center.
