Mission Statement: To develop viable neighborhoods by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and expand economic opportunities, especially for those persons with low and moderate incomes.

The City of El Monte offers several housing programs designed to assist its residents with maintaining clean, decent and safe living environments, and creating affordable homeownership opportunities. HOUSING PROGRAMS:
 

First Time Home Buyer Program
The City of El Monte offers down payment assistance to income eligible homebuyers that have not owned property within the past three years. 
 
Affordable Housing Development

The City of El Monte Housing Rehabilitation Program helps low- and moderate-income households rehabilitate their homes.

Homeless Prevention

Homeless Prevention Program for Mobile Home Park Residents

The Homeless Prevention Program for Mobile Home Park Residents is designed to provide housing relocation and/or stabilization services and short- and/or medium-term rental assistance, as necessary, to prevent an El Monte Mobile Home Park residents from becoming homeless. Federal Grant Programs
The City is a direct recipient of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Foreclosure Prevention
Are you finding it difficult to make your monthly mortgage payment? If you do not make your mortgage payments, your lender can take your home. The process they use to take your home is called foreclosure.
