AEROBICS:

"Surf, Turf, or Both" Exercise & Fitness Programs
In this high tech age it is more challenging than ever to stay active without a little motivation. Under the direction of Felicia Perez you will not miss a beat. This very qualified and contagiously energetic instructor is conducting water aerobics combining Interval Training, Aqua Kick Box, Splash Dance, Hi-Low Aerobics, Strength Training, Deep Water Running & more. Her dry land aerobics classes combine Salsa Latin Groove, Cardio Beat Street , Hi-Low Aerobics, Turbo Kick Box and Pilate's elements. The program has been named "Aeroquatics" as it provides "Surf, Turf or Both" in exercise and fitness programs. New this year are Zumba dry land sessions and Aquazumba pool sessions.

Classes will be held on land or in water and you may choose from either type of class.

Instructor Felicia Perez has been teaching in the fitness industry for the past 23 years, earned a national certification from the American Council on Exercise, certified by the United States Water Fitness Association, and Bally Total Fitness California/Utah Regional Instructor of the Year.

Water Aerobics
This Cardiovascular class is easy on your joints while still providing you with all the benefits of an aerobics class. All levels welcome. Perfect for pregnancies and injuries. Swimsuits are required. 

Evenings: Monday & Wednesday 7:10 - 8:10 P.M. Friday 6:00-7:00 P.M.

FEE: $3.50 W/O INSTRUCTOR, $5.00 W/ INSTRUCTOR

Swimsuits are required.

Floor Aerobics
This Cardiovascular workout is driven by upbeat music with foot stomping movements targeting heart, lungs and lower body toning. All levels welcome. Athletic Shoes are required.

Evenings: Monday & Wednesday 6:00-7:00 P.M.

*Ask instructor for information about a Goal Chart Plan.
*An adult must accompany participating children.
*Due to class size NO Spectators or Children allowed.

LAP SWIM:

This is a cool way to physical fitness all year round. Open to those adults who wish to stay fit through swimming and in-pool exercises. Workouts are posted daily for beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmers. You are welcome to use these workouts or use your own. Our 10 person therapy pool is also available during all lap swim hours. Minimum age for lap swim and therapy pool use is 14 years.

RECREATION SWIMMING:

Pool Policies
• No cut-off jeans or pants of any kind (hemmed or not). All swimmers MUST wear regulation swimsuits. Spectators without swimsuits are not allowed in the water. No rental suits available.
•  Please shower before entering pool.
• Please leave all personal flotation devices at home. 
•  Children 6 yrs. & under MUST have an adult with them in the pool at all times.
•  All swimmers 3 yrs. & under MUST wear an in-water diaper designed for
swimming regardless of toilet training status. Swimmers 3-5 yrs. of age must
wear an in water diaper if they are not toilet trained.
•  ALL SPECTATORS MUST SIT IN DESIGNATED AREAS.
•  Special events or weather may cause a change in the posted schedule.
•  The City of El Monte is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please leave all valuables at home. NO jewelry allowed inside the pool.
•  Your compliance with all requests made by the Aquatic Center staff is greatly appreciated.
•  Please keep all food and drink in designated areas.
•  No Gum or Outside Food Allowed in the facility.
•  A swim test is required to swim in the deep-water areas.
•  Please walk at all times.
•  Jump in feet first and facing forward only, please. No diving except from diving boards.

Slide Pool Policies
In addition to specific use guidelines given on site, the following will be strictly enforced:
•  Maximum Operational Load: 1 person, 300 lbs.
•  Swimmers fewer than 48 inches tall are not permitted on this ride.
•  Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps.
•  Swim wears with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation are not permitted.
•  CAUTION: For safety reasons, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride this slide. 

 
 
 
 

 

 

SENIOR SWIM:

This is a continuous program that offers open recreational swimming for our Senior Citizens. If interested, you may register with the Pool Cashier prior to your first class attendance. Space is limited.

Program Hours:

Class is held every Monday through Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30 A.M.

The Senior Swim Fee is also available during Lap Swim Hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. (Note: The Senior fee does not apply to weekday afternoon or Saturday Lap Swim Hours.)

* $1.00 fee per swim to seniors with El Monte Senior Citizens Card  and C.D.B.G. form filled out completely.

- Participants must be at least 50 yrs. of age)

 
 

 

 

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD:

In the Junior Lifeguard program, participants learn what it truly takes to be a lifeguard. While increasing their swimming capabilities, they are able to learn about the physical aspects of being a professional rescuer. Participants are also challenged mentally with a curriculum that encompasses all aspects of being a lifeguard by training in the American Red Cross Guard Start Program, including First Aid, CPR and Water Safety Aide courses. Junior Lifeguard candidates also volunteer at the pool in various programs, which gives them a chance to work along side lifeguards seeing them in action and learn what they do. Junior Lifeguards will also attend three field trips where candidate can experience various types of lifeguarding duties.

$175.00 fee includes instruction, class materials; program T-shirt, shorts and backpack. Also included is a trip to Raging Waters with meal and field trips to Huntington Beach and Santa Fe Dam. A mandatory Skills Test for all Junior Lifeguard candidates will be held on: (To Be Determined)
