SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM:

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals, that meet Federal nutrition guidelines, are provided to all children at approved SFSP sites. This program is designated to service children, ages 18 and younger at various park and school sites all throughout the City of El Monte.

On average, 103,000 breakfast and lunch meals are served during the summer months, June through August, each year. This program is funded completely by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the California Department of Education (CDE). Please call the City of El Monte, Community and Senior Services Division at: (626) 580-2210, or click on the link below, for specific site information.
