The El Monte Police Explorer Post 522 is an exciting program for the youth of our community. As an explorer a youth member will experience the law enforcement career by participating in a highly motivated program based around all aspects of the El Monte Police Department. The explorer experience is a beginning look at becoming a police officer or the many other careers within the law enforcement field.

As a uniformed police explorer, the youth member will participate in monthly meetings, police-type training, police station and community service details, ride along with police officers on duty, compete against other explorer posts in area competitions, attend an explorer academy, become more physically fit, and participate in many other activities designed to promote leadership and team building skills.

To join the El Monte Police Explorer Post 522, you must be 14 to 18 years of age, be free of any criminal involvements, and maintain average to good grades in school. Contact the El Monte Police Department at (626) 580-2100, and ask to speak to the Explorer Post Advisor.
Explorer meetings are on first and third Thursdays of the month, starting at 6:00 P.M. at the back of the Police station.
