The Vehicle Maintenance Division is centrally located within the confines of the entire Police Department and City Hall East and West.
The area is approximately 2100 square feet with three service bays and a storage room for parts/office area. The Division is manned by two full-time mechanics equaling approximately 50 years of experience. Between the two, they are successful in maintaining the entire police vehicle fleet (approximately 90 vehicles), which includes patrol vehicles, traffic motors, K-9 vehicles, and selected detective vehicles.
The typical maintenance performed is full engine diagnostics, minor oil changes, moderate top-end engine repair, and intricate electrical repair. For major assistance and additional advice local dealerships and vendors are used and consulted.
